Project Details

NorthPoint was tasked with the renovation of an existing 134,000 sf office building to create a new space for Academy of Science & Design. This unique educational facility required special focus on laboratory style learning environments including robotics labs, wet labs, computer labs and lecture halls. The school is home to grades 5-12 and 800 students. NorthPoint worked tirelessly on an aggressive schedule to complete the project before the 2023 start of term. This was a challenge, as it involved upgrades to existing wall locations to create code required smoke partitions & fire walls. Also included in code & safety updates were replacement of fire alarm system and life safety devices. State code also required the alteration and additions of various existing egress exits to accommodate educational occupancy.
