NorthPoint served as Design/Builders for the complete interior and exterior renovations of a 5-story shoe factory located on Main Street, to serve as the new home for the offices of the Attorney General.  We carefully stripped the exterior of the building of 100 years of old paint and coordinated with the preservation consultant to ensure all masonry repairs were performed sensitively and in keeping with the original brick and stone work materials and details. A new state-of-the-art passenger elevator was installed along with ADA compliant restrooms to ensure full accessibility throughout the 5-story building. The entire project was completed from start to finish within a 5-month period, ahead of schedule and within budget. NorthPoint worked closely with the Owner’s preservation consultants in the inventory of interior trim elements, windows, brick and stone masonry details, etc. Each piece of interior trim was carefully removed, numbered, and shipped out for de-leading to be later re-installed in the finish phase of construction. Every existing window was photographed and cataloged into a building directory before they could be removed to install new, energy efficient replacements as approved by historic preservation officials.
